SWM is a service provider for electricity, natural gas, district heating, drinking water, public transportation and telecommunication in Munich and its surroundings. The services of „Stadtwerke München” are "The pulse of our city" - and that's exactly what they want to represent with their magazine. To show how the company contributes to the daily business in a city of a million people, M-Puls regularly casts a glance behind the scenes of the Munich municipal utilities.
In 2019 Storyboard won the assignment and the development of the customer magazine of Stadtwerke München. M-Puls is published four times a year, with a circulation of around 1.2 million copies. The customer magazine with its 24 pages serves as an information and customer loyalty medium for the entire SWM Group.
At the end of March 2019, the first edition designed by SWM and Storyboard was published. The existing concept and layout was further refined, the imagery updated. The editorial focus remains on the needs and activities of SWM clients and city dwellers.
A boat on the bridge, an algorithm to find leaks in the Munich water network and high-quality education for every child: The ideas and plans Munich residents get off the ground is impressive.
In issue 01/2019 we present three role-model-projects and explain how SWM plays a part in it. We give ideas and tips for a detour into the neighborhood of the MVG-bike-station around Münchner Freiheit. In addition readers learn which MVG track sections are affected by construction this summer – wrapped up in a clear illustration by Pia Bublies – and why SWM is investing in green electricity from the north.

We define the target audience, we find the right tone and voice, and we form the visual concept. Most important of all, we find the best people to put these ideas into practice.Beispiele
