MVG already provides 80 percent of Munich's mobility electrically thanks to the subway and streetcar - and the bus fleet is also becoming increasingly electric. More and more electric cars are quietly conquering the city. A development that SWM is supporting by expanding the charging infrastructure.

At the now more than 570 public SWM charging points in the city area, two electric cars with up to 22 kilowatts can be charged per charging station, naturally with 100 percent M-eco electricity. Charging and payment can be done with an SWM charging card or with one of the over 200 partner charging cards from the charging network. The charging points on the columns can also be activated by smartphone. The app MVG more gives an overview of all SWM charging stations and free charging points.

Buy or rent a charging station?

The most comfortable place to recharge your car is perhaps your own parking space - whether at home or at your company. SWM has the right package for every situation with all-round service - making the charging process a relaxed matter of course.

ELECTRICAL PROGRESS IN NUMBERS:

40% of the costs, or a maximum of 3,000 euros, are subsidized by the City of Munich when a charging station is purchased or rented
Over 1,140 electric vehicles can charge at the same time at the approximately 570 public SWM charging points in the Munich city area
2 hours E-cars in Munich are allowed to park free of charge at the roadside - use a parking disc or the app HandyParken München
